Rajeshwar Upadhyaya


A consultant, trainer, coach and a professor in Management, Prof Upadhyaya’s expertise in conducting training programs in India, South-East Asia and The United States makes him one of the most distinguished speakers on organisational behaviour and related issues.

Education & Career

Prof Upadhyaya has an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, USA.

As a consultant, he has worked with several international companies including J&J, Veritas (now Symantec), Voltas (Dubai), ONGC, RPG, Bombay Stock Exchange, HLL, Lehman Brothers, CRISIL, KAIST (Korea), Lowe-Lintas, eBay, Walt Disney, Fidelity Investments, Nicholas Piramal etc. His specialisation as a consultant is in Change Management, Cross-Cultural Team Building, Multi-Rater Feedback (360 Degrees Feedback) and Strategy Formulation in the context of Values-Mission-Vision.

As a trainer, he caters to a vast spectrum of behavioural and development programs ranging from Transformational Leadership to Emotional and Spiritual Intelligence. He, however, specializes in Cross Cultural training with a focus on South and South-East Asia where he explores the complex issues of Leadership and Strategy in the context of Culture and Values.

As Senior Executive and CEO Coach, he has worked with numerous national and multinational companies very successfully. Some of his clients are Lowe-Lintas, Bristle-Cone, Johnson Diversey, Fidelity Investments (India), eBay, Walt Disney, etc.

In addition to consulting and development work, Prof Upadhayaya has been a facilitator of learning for more than a decade and a half. He is currently a visiting faculty at The Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad where he teaches the well-received Leadership Development Program and a specialised elective titled “Leadership Insights from World Literature”. He has also taught at School of Finance and Management, Oxford Brooks University, UK and Thunderbird USA.

He is currently the Director of Par Excellence, an organisation that drives transformational learning and is based out of Princeton (USA) and Mumbai (India).

Other Interests

Professor Upadhyaya was also the Dean of Northpoint Centre of Learning where he set up the institution's tripodic effort of catering for the emergent requirements of executive education, corporate consulting and assessment in South Asia.

Books

He has authored two books and several articles and his third book Insights from the Tragedies of Shakespeare - Exploring the Psychology of Leadership Failure is underway.
