Dr. Gokarn has wide-ranging research experience in issues relating to Industry, Finance, Infrastructure and Macroeconomics, making him a prolific economist and a speaker.
His previous positions were at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi, where he was the Chief Economist, in charge of the Industry and Infrastructure Division.
Dr. Subir Gokarn is currently an executive director and chief economist with CRISIL, India's leading rating, financial news, risk, and policy advisory company.
Books
Dr. Gokarn has authored a book entitled The structure of Indian Industry. He was also a Consulting Editor to Business Standard and continues to contribute a fortnightly column on current economic issues. He is also a columnist for Asia Insight.
